SU Lacrosse Drops Albany in Season Opener

The Orange prevailed 12-7 against the University of Albany in the teams first game of the season. The victory was paced by a strong showing from all three lines of the Midfield. Early in the game when the Attack was struggling to generate offense the middies, lead by JoJo Marasco’s three goals, shouldered the burden of scoring. After the game coaches and players talked to CitrusTV’s Chip Angeles about how the defense Albany employed help the midfielders find the net.

The Orange won its 7th straight with a 74-64 win over the Scarlet Knights. It was another neck-and-neck contest for SU, but it finished off the game on a 12-4 run. C.J Fair continued to play lights out – he had a career-high 21 points. Scoop Jardine also netted 17 points, and dished out 5 assists. CitrusTV’s Mark Sell has the team’s reaction to Fair’s breakout afternoon.

SU braved the white-out in the KFC Yum! Center to sneak past Rick Pitino’s squad in what Orange Head Coach Jim Boeheim called a defensive struggle. Senior leader Scoop Jardine couldn’t find the basket, finishing with 0 points in 26 minutes. Instead, Sophomores C.J. Fair and Fab Melo led the charge with 13 and 11 to put SU over the top.
