Tennis loses first home match in three years

Saturday, Feb 25, 2012 at 3:04 am by Lorne Fultonberg

The Syracuse Women’s Tennis Team lost to #59 William and Mary 5-2 Friday night at Drumlins Tennis Center, snapping a 27-match home winning streak. The Tribe rolled to victories in all three doubles matches to win the doubles point and then captured four of six singles matches. The loss is the team’s first at home since a 4-3 loss to Iowa State in three years–almost to the day. Head coach Luke Jensen is now 42-6 at home in his six-year career at SU.

The Orange is now unranked, having dropped from the ITA Top 75 poll released Wednesday. Syracuse was ranked #73 in last week’s poll, the first national ranking in its history.
